Short-Term Treatment
The BioEnterics Intragastric Balloon (BIB System) is indicated for temporary use moderately obese patients who have significant health risks related to their obesity and have failed to achieve and maintain weight loss with a supervised weight control program alone. The BIB may also be used for temporary weight loss in severely obese patients prior to obesity or other surgery, to help reduce surgical risk.
The BIB System is designed to be used in conjunction with a long-term supervised diet and behavior modification program to help patients maintain weight loss after the device is removed. Endoscopically Placed within the stomach and inflated with saline, the BIB partially fills the stomach to induce a feeling of satiety to support patients in reducing food intake an adopting new dietary habits. The BIB can be deflated and removed endoscopically.

Il sistema per palloncino intragastrico BioEnterics (BIB ™) è stato creato per indurre la perdita di peso attraverso un riempimento parziale dello stomaco che provoca un senso di sazietà. Il sistema BIB viene allo scopo posizionato nello stomaco, riempito con soluzione fisiologica ed espanso fino al raggiungimento di una forma sferica. Una volta riempito, il palloncino è in grado di agire come un bezoar artificiale e muoversi liberamente all'interno dello stomaco.
